Storyboard Text

  • "What are you doing with powerful weapons? That equipment of yours is fitting of our shoulders, which are able to give certain wounds to enemies, I recently killed the swollen Python, who was pressing down so many acres with his disease-bearing belly, with countless arrows! You will be content to provoke some loves by your fire, not to lay claim to my honors.”
  • Apollo was the God of Light and it was his job to pull the sun across the sky each day with his chariot.
  • Leave me alone!!
  • Daphne was the daughter of a river God and caught the eye of Apollo for being very beautiful. Daphne decided that she would never marry.
  • Please help me!
  • One day, Apollo decided to mock Cupid (god of love) because they both used arrows but Cupid used arrows for love instead of defeating enemies. Cupid was angry and decided to get revenge on Apollo for doing so.
  • Cupid shot Apollo with a gold arrow that made him fall in love with Daphne but he shot Daphne with a lead arrow that made her hate Apollo.
  • Apollo continued to follow Daphne and told her that he'd love her forever. Exhausted, Daphne cried out to her father, Peneus, to help her escape Apollo.
  • To escape Apollo, Peneus turned Daphne into a laurel tree. Apollo used his powers to make Daphne's leaves evergreen and he adopted the laurel tree as his sacred plant.
