When Theodora came back from her trip she quickly went back to her life before, but it seemed she caught a certain emperors eye.
Seeing as it was tradition in the Byzantine court for emperors to marry the winners of beauty contests, one was into place for Justinian. Theodora was participating.
Now Theodora to participate a couple laws had to be changed.
I hereby pass this law for former actresses and prostitutes to be allowed to compete in the pagent.
Your majesty are you sure about this?
Theodora of course won seeing as she was brilliant as well as stunningly beautiful. Justinian insisted that she be crowned with him as his queen instead of her being his consort.
Now even though the kingdom looked like it was being ruled well some people did not like the new rulers and had thoughts of rebellion.
Is this it?
Good now lets burn this city to the ground, taking it's rulers with it
After Theodora's speech everyone was filled with courage which helped them end the Nika Revolt.
I do not care whether or not it is proper for a woman to give brave counsel to frightened men; but in moments of extreme danger, conscience is the only guide. Every man who is born into the light of day must sooner or later die; and how can an Emperor ever allow himself to become a fugitive?
