Storyboard Text

  • Exposition- Bad luck can turn into something better
  • "They hadn't exactly fallen from the sky. He had just walked out from under a freeway overpass when the shoe hit him on the head." P.24
  • Rising Action- Bad luck can turn into something better
  • "Mr. Pendanski handed him the shovel. 'Here, take it Zero. It's all you'll ever be good for.' " p. 139
  • Climax- Bad luck can turn into something better
  • "He managed to get to his feet. He was sore, but didn't think he had broken bones. He glanced at Mr. Sir who reminded him of where he was, staring at Stanley." P. 147
  • Later on, Stanley goes to Camp Green Lake. He ends up being thankful for those shoes hitting him, because if the shoes didn't hit him, he wouldn't have been caught and sent to Camp Green Lake.
  • Falling action- Bad luck can turn into something better
  • " 'You did it! Zero said. 'We did it.' Stanley said. He gathered his remaining strength and tried to pull himself up out of the hole." P. 202, 203
  • Zero ran away, but eventually helps Stanley get treasure and escape.
  • Falling action- Bad luck can turn into something better
  • " 'Thank you!' Said the Warden.'You boys have been a big help.' " p. 203
  • Mr. Sir finds Stanley. This is bad, but it gets better. This is the first sign of Stanley running away, and he finds Zero on his journey.
  • Resolution- Bad luck can turn into something better 
  • "It was enough for Stanley to buy his family a new house, with a laboratory in the basement, and for Hector to hire a team of private investigators." P.230
  • If Stanley never got hit by those shoes, then he would not have found the treasure with Zero, because he would be at home.
  • The Warden found them, but Stanley's name was on the case, so he got to keep it. He got to go home, as well.
  • Going to Camp Green Lake eventually made he and his family rich.
