  • King Louis XIV leaves France in a sorry state due to his lavish spending which put France in national debt, and a poor harvest contributed to France’s economic decline.
  • We want our rights!!
  • Despite receiving advice from his financial advisor J. Necker, King Louis XVI refuses to listen, worsening France’s state.
  • Go! Go! Go!
  • The three classes in France were the First, Second, and Third estate. The first was made up of the clergy, the second made up of nobility, and the third was made up of all the rest the Third estate payed all the taxes.
  • Let’s get out of here!
  • Sick of unequal representation, the third estate separates and form the National Assembly. King Louis XVI tries to get rid of them, so they form the Tennis Court Oath, agreeing not to disband until they are given their rights.
  • When King Louis XVI attempts to stop the National Assembly, the fight back they storm the Bastille in order to get gunpowder to fight back. The marked the point of no return in the revolution.
  • The Émigrés leave France due to the fear of death and violence. This shows the truly terrifying beginning of the revolution.
