An exemplary teacher shows passion for their students, their school, and in themselves. They seek the good in their students and want the best for them. They are always looking for improvements in their classroom and with their students.
If a teacher hears about a student stealing, they should try to discreetly find out the "why". There are different reasons a student may steal, but the student should know there are other ways to get what they need.
Without calling attention to the students, an exemplary teacher would use it as a teachable moment for all students. They would teach them why it's wrong to steal and the consequences of their actions.
