Mom, I really do not feel good but I am scared to miss school and all my assignments!
If you are sick, you should email your teacher and ask her what you are missing
Hey Mr. Smith!!!!!!! What's up w/ class? Do I need 2 make up any work or take quizzes? I am sick. :( -Sally
Sally, You did not miss anything important. Please come see me when you get back so we can talk about email habits. Feel Better! Mr. Smith
Hi Mr. Smith. I realize my email was not proper. Could you explain to me how to write a good email?
When you email a respected adult, you want to start with a greeting, such as dear. Then, state your question or concern, and finally, sign the email with sincerely or best. You want to be professional.
Sally, no problem. I know it can be confusing at times when emailing an older adult such as your teacher.
Thanks so much Mr. Smith! If I were to rewrite my email to you I would say: Dear Mr. Smith, I am sick today and would like to know what assignments I need to makeup. Thank you in advance, Sally
That is perfect, Sally. I am glad I could help you write a professional email.
