Storyboard Text

  • This has a lot of matter.
  • Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space.
  • This has a little bit of matter.
  • The unit used to measure mass is grams.
  • Mass is measured with a triple balance beam.
  • Mass is the amount of matter in an object.
  • Weight is the force of gravity based on matter. Weight is not the same as matter because you have in weight in space.
  • An example to show how Mass and Weight are different is going in space
  • The equipment to measure volume is a rule or a meter stick.
  • Volume is the amount of space an object takes up.
  • Measuring an irregular object. You have to use a beaker of liquid and fill it.
  • A volleyball has high density because it is smaller.
  • Density is the amount of matter in a given object.
  • A tv has a lower density because it is bigger.
  • Objects with density less than water, like an apple float.
  • Density of water is 1 ml / g. This means that 1 gram of water equals 1 ml of water.
  • Objects with more density than water , like a rock will sink.
