I cannot let the political fervor of Kennedy go to waste, I mourn for him, but there is work to be done in his honor and his legacy. Not only will I carry his New Frontier policies, but I will create and develop my own to help Americans.
Through impressive lobbying and action, Johnson gained massive public and Congressional support for his policies. He created social welfare, education, development, and transportation programs. Along with all of this, he reformed immigration and tax policy.
He was able to pass Medicare and Medicaid to help the elderly and sick with medical expenses. Office of Economic Opportunity worked to reduce poverty until it fell apart. Housing Act kept cities and housing hospitable and comfortable for impoverished, while Jonson also established Department of Housing and Urban Development for the future.
Education Acts helped schools based on the needs of the student, and improved lower-income schools significantly. It has lead to many schools and undergraduates receiving aid from the federal government for education and basic necessities related to it.
The Immigration Act also helped different kinds of people come into the United States while keeping the overall immigrant cap. This act made sure not only Northern Europeans were accepted into the US, but also other European, Asian, and African people.
Johnson was able to cut taxes to improve the economic situation of many Americans. He substantially reduced poverty and hunger within and after this time period, for white and black communities alike. LBJ was able to test and push the American government to see its limits in social welfare programs, which it handled well for as much as he tried to accomplish.
