Three hardships my group faced were that they were forced to leave their homes in order to get religious freedom. When they settled in their new homes after traveling west, the Americans attacked them because of their religious beliefs. They had to move numerous times before finding a place to settle with laws that protected them.

During the trail, not many people died. They were luckier than other travelers like the Nez Perce.
