  • This war was between Britain and French in 1754 – 1763, also known as the seven years war. The war provided Great Britain enormous territorial gains in North America, but disputes over subsequent frontier policy and paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent, and ultimately to the American Revolution. Even though Britain won the war, Britain had lost a tremendous amount of money during the war forcing the Britain's parliament to charge a massive amount of tax without representing the colonists; this was because the British were in control of America, which created sparks between Britain and the Colonist.   • Intoreable Act
  •  “The die is now cast; the colonies must either submit or triumph…. we must not retreat.
  • On March 15, 1770, a group of drunk Bostonians approached and taunted the redcoat in front of the Province of Massachusetts Bay, causing the soldiers to fire a gun to the group, hoping that the Bostonians will be afraid. However, it gathered a more massive crowd of the Bostonians. Making the redcoat eventually fire at the group of Bostonians, killing four people instantly and causing six people wounded. Luckily, the sons of liberty came to a stop the Britain soldier since they were fully armed and had the number advantage. The event caused more sparks between the colonist and Britain
  • First Continental Congress
  • On 16th of December 1773 at the Griffin’s Wharf in Boston, the Sons of Liberty, a secret organization of the American Colonies to advance the rights of colonists and to fight taxation of Britain, disguise as mohawk Indian, approach the Boston Harbor where three ships from Britain were located. They tossed 342 chest tea worth 92000 pounds in the sea. This rebellion act was to protest against Britain about the tea act. This act allowed Britain to directly shipped the tea from England straight to America at a lower price. However, this eases Britain company’s financial burden. This event was the first time significant act resistance from the colonist toward Britain.
  • Revolutionary War
  • The first action was the intolerable Act, King George III and the prime minister of Britain were angry at the colonists and their action, so the English parliament created the intolerable act, which was a series of acts that were very cruel to the colonists. The laws were designed to punish Boston for the action from the tea party event. There was four main act that Britain has passed. Boston Act, Massachusetts Act, Administration of Justice Act, Quartering Act
  • This event was a continental meeting where 13 American colonies leaders to discuss the relationship with Great Britain. The event took place in the Carpenter’s Hall in Philadelphia. The purpose of Congress was to show support for Boston and to work out a unified approach to the British. The plan was proposed to create a Union of Great Britain and the Colonies, but the delegates rejected it; therefore, nothing was accomplished.

  • The Revolutionary War (1775-1783), the war between Britain and the colonist. More than a decade of growing estrangement between the British crown and a large and influential segment of its North American colonies that was caused by British attempts to assert greater control over colonial affairs. Afterward, this civil war became an international war as France (in 1778), and Spain (in 1779) joined to support the colonist. Finally, the British were finally brought down and surrender at Yorktown, which led to the independence of America.
