"And there it was that we saw Liberty 5-3000 walking along the furrows. Their body was straight and thin as a blade of iron. Their Eyes were dark and hard and glowing, with no fear in them, no kindness and no guilt" (Rand 38-39). This is when Equality first sees Liberty
In chapter 3 Equality worked in his underground abandon subway with things that he found left by the unspoken times. Equality used things like copper wire and light bulbs that had been there for years to bring back electricity.
In Chapter 4, Equality and Liberty get to talk again for the first time in a while. Equality is told by Liberty that he has been given a name by her and it is "The Unconquered."
In chapter 3, Equality wanted to see his own face because he had just done something great and doesn't know what he looks like. He wants to know because he is becoming more self concerned.
Equality was caught by the council for skipping the curfew. He was thrown in a cell and whipped.
