  • The Boston Massacre 
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • And that's the tea
  • Lexington and Concord
  • A mob  of angry colonists threw snowballs at the British soldiers in the streets. The soldiers retaliated and 5 colonists were killed.   March 5, 1770 
  • Declaration Of Independence
  • Colonists (Sons of Liberty) in Boston dressed up as Native Americans. They went on a British ship and tipped over 342 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor.    December 16, 1773
  • The Battles of Saratoga
  • These battles started the revolutionary war. The battle of Lexington was a small, yet important fight. After it, British troops marched into Concord after Americans fled.   Paul Revere warned that "The regulars are coming" which allowed them to be more prepared. The British retreated but were still attacked.  British lost 73 men, 144 wounded. Americans lost 49, 41 wounded. April 19, 1775.
  • Battle Of Yorktown
  • On July 4th, 1776, the Congress officially adopted the final version of the  Declaration of Independence. 
  • The battles of Saratoga were a turning point in the Revolutionary war due to the surrender of the British. September 19 - October 17, 1777.   The first battle was the Battle of Freeman's farm. 
  • The last major battle of the  Revolutionary war. The British surrendered and they considered a peace treaty.  Oct. 19, 1781
