  • The poem takes place in the speakers, "chamber." The speaker who is never named and a raven are the only characters. 
  • Climax
  • "nevermore!"
  • The speaker has a lot of grief over his lost love named Lenore. 
  • Falling Action
  • leave! please leave!!
  • He hears a knocking at his chamber door and gets up to see what is there but when he opens the door all that is there is darkness. Then a raven flies in through the window. The speaker starts asking the raven questions but all the raven says is "nevermore".
  • Resolution
  • Lenore?!
  • While asking the raven questions the speaker asks if he will ever see Lenore again and the raven says "nevermore".
  • The speaker gets mad at the raven for saying that and tells him contineusly to leave.
  • The raven refuses to leave. The speaker realizes that he will never see Lenore again, and will continue go grieve forever.
