Storyboard Text

  • Today class we will be going on a field trip to various places around the city.
  • The places we are going are going to be used to help me explain a few key words of our energy unit.
  • Our first stop is going to be the forest. The forest provides us with natural resources among other things.
  • Natural Resources are resources supplied by nature to help sustain life like coal and water.
  • Our second stop on our trip is our city's nuclear power plant that produces energy from a renewable resource.
  • A Renewable resource is a resource that will replenish itself faster than what humans can use it.
  • Our next stop is Mount Khan which is known for its large amount of a nonrenewable resource called coal.
  • A nonrenewable resource is a resource that cannot replenish itself faster than what humans consume it.
  • Our last stop is the town's lighthouse that stands right beside a cliff that has eroded over time.
  • Erosion is were the top levels of soil are removed due to most commonly water.
  • I hope getting to see the places around the city, helped you to understand a few key words for our up-incoming unit.
