  • Now that the South has seceded, we need to start building our transcontinental railroad
  • Yeah! Let's get to work
  • The Civil War has ended and now we have the money to start our railroad
  • Here's the weekly income statement from the railroad, you've made big bucks
  • Thanks, make sure to give a small portion to Congress to look the other way for the harsh labor and low pay
  • Then drill, my paddies, drill; Drill, my heroes, drill; Drill all day, No sugar in your tay Workin' on the U.P. Railway.
  • Natives attacked with hopes to gain back the land that was once theirs. Many natives and railroad workers lost their lives as the railroad expanded. 
  • Everyone seize your rifles! This is our land now, we won't stop building this railroad!
  • Give us our land back! It is rightfully ours!
  • In 1869 near Ogden, Utah, two locomotives finally met and the transcontinental line spanned 1,086 miles. 
  • At last, the wedding of the rails! Where's the champagne, it's time to celebrate!
