Charlotte and The One Hit was written by Olivia Lorenz and is a short story to portray the proverb "good things come to those who wait."As Charlotte goes through her Volleyball career you will learn about the "good thing."
Early one morning Charlotte awoke and set off to the gym to have an early morning Volleyball practice before school. She did this every other day to train for her club team. She went to the gym with her two twin sisters Baylee and Savannah who also played volleyball.
Charlotte was 12 and had played for school and rec leagues for 7 years. Her sisters were 15 and had played for not only school teams but also club. Charlotte hated how good of hitters her sisters were because she was not that good at hitting. Later that evening she had a game with her school team and she decided she wanted to try to hit a ball. When she went jumped after the set she fell and it costed her team the game losing point.
Right when Charlotte got home from the game she went to her room and made a pact to herself to practice, practice, practice until she got her hits down. And yes, she did , she went left and right practicing for club team tryouts. After school she would go to the gym workout, and practice.
The tryouts had come and she was so so nervous because she wanted her hits to be good. She learned that the club directors and coaches were there scouting players for their teams. When it was the second set in the scrimage the setter, Iris, set the ball as Charlotte said "outside, outside," and OMG, Charlotte not only hit the ball but it was so good. She was over the moon extatic.
Later that evening she got a letter from the club that they wanted her on the team and she was super happy. In this moment she learned that good things come to those who wait. She kept trying and when she fell she got right back up and she kept going. That shows real dedication.
