Three suitors, Hortensio, Lucentio, and Old Gremio seek Bianca´s hand in marriage but her father Baptista will not allow her to marry until her sister Katharina the Shrew marries. Luckily enough, Pertuchio wishes to marry her for the money and tame her into being a good wife. All the while Hortensio and Lucentio devise plans to get closer to Bianca.
The wedding day for Kate and Pertruchio comes but he arrives late and in odd attire. During the ceremony Pertruchio hits the priest and kisses Kate rather loudly. He doesnt allow her to go to the after party an they leave immedily for Pertruchios estate.
At Pertruchio´s estate, Kate tries to eat but Pertruchio keeps all of the food away from her claiming it is not good enough for her. He hits and yells at the servants in the same way Kate would treat everyone else. He was showing her how obnoxious she was being and how cruel she was to people.
Back at Baptista´s house Bianca and Lucentio get married in secret after he reveals himself to her when he disguised himself as her school teacher. Baptista agrees to the wedding when offered a large amount of money and Bianca and Lucentio finally marry.
Pertruchio and Kate return back to Baptista´s estate to attend a banquet after Hortensio´s marriage to the widow. The three men start a bet to see which of their wives is the best. The man whose wife comes when called wins the gold. Everyone expects Bianca to win.
After a while the messenger returns to tell Lucentio that Bianca says she is busy and will not come. Everyone is surpised and laughs. Hortensio´s messenger returns only to say that if he wishes to speak to the widow he must come himself. Finally, Pertruchio sends out his messenger and nobody expects her to come. Kate comes immediately dragging Bianca and the widow with her. She gives a speech scolding the wives behavior.
