  • Phoenix Farm: Arrival
  • The story "Phoenix Farm" by Jane Yolen, begins with a teenage girl and her brother Nicky and her mother. Soon after their dad ran off, a fire starts in their apartment building and after the fire the main character finds an egg. Because of the fire they have no choice but to move at their grandmas. This affects the character since, she has to leave her town and has to start fresh. 
  • Phoenix Farm: Climax
  • Soon in the story "Phoenix Farm" by Jane Yolen their apartment building burned down they move to their grandmas house and leave their town. The main character finds the egg and decides to bring it last second, she makes a nest out of her jacket. In the story, their dad left, the narrator  likes to think he is dead. This affects the narrator since, like I said her father left, and she grab the egg that shoed up after the fire showing something will happen later on with the egg.

  • In the story they arrive to their grandmas farm, things go not so smoothly, when they arrive, they get new cloths from people donating them, the narrator's mom is fighting with the narrator's grandma, Nicky (narrator's brother) makes friends and our narrator makes a friend named Ann Marie.This will affect our narrator for her family making new friends and the grandma and mom are fighting.
  • Phoenix Farm: Conclusion
  • In the story, the narrator and Ann where at the narrators house, studying until, the egg started moving, pulsing, and other things. Ann decided to touched the egg , but when she touches the egg she gets scared and leave, and Nicky ask about the egg. This affects the narrator for, the egg is finally hatching giving her a thought of what it could be.
  • In this part of the story, the egg hatches and a mysterious bird comes out of it, the bird fly's out the window, growing , changing it's forms, as the narrator try's and figures out what is this creature is, but then the bird leaves to a distance, with fiery wings, leaving a scent of cinnamon, like the narrators dad. This affects the narrator for the egg finally hatches and a mystical bird comes out of it reminding her the scent of her dad.
  • In conclusion of the story, after the bird leaves, soon the dad arrives giving a clue that the dad relates to the the bird that hatched. For example: the dad said that he got a job in Phoenix.  This affects the narrator since her dad is back and the phoenix is somehow related to the father. The theme is that everything is never over and theirs always a cycle
