I was in the music room, auditioning for the most important musical of the year. Shrek the musical. I wanted to get Fiona so bad!!! I was so nervous, and I kept looking at the music teacher, and I felt like she wasn't impressed with me.
Oh brave sir knight, will um... you come rescue me?
Later that day I was upset because I thought I had blew my audition. Then, my friend Kenzie came up to me and told me that I was definitely going to get Fiona in Shrek.
Cheer up! You did Amazing!! You messed up once. You'll be fine!!
I guess. Thanks Kenzie.
Shrek- Gianni L. Fiona- Sammi T. Storyteller- Kenzie S.
It was one week later, and the casting list was finally up. I walk into school that morning with Kenzie. Were both terrified of what might be on that list. I stand next to her, and we look at the sheet of paper in fear. I look at the top of the list and find my name next to the part of FIONA. Kenzie's name is right below mine, and she got the part of a story teller. We were both so happy, and there were no words to describe my excitement!
We rehursed for the next 2 and a half months, and those 2 and a half months were the best months of my life. It couldn't have been any better. It was so exciting and fun to be myself and sing and act.
It's been 2 months and 14 days. We had two last practices that day, and I was having such a hard time focusing. I started to doubt myself. But later that day my music teacher told me that I just need to find a better way to be less nervous. And then the next day, I was ready to preform and to show the world what I can do.
It was a day later, and it was going to be our last performance of Shrek ever. I was so confident, and pumped, and I did the best I could ever do. It was so fun and amazing to be on that stage, and see my wonderful music teacher smile up at me in the crowd.
My experience in Shrek taught me to be myself no matter what, and during those 2 and a half months, every time I rehearsed, and walked up to that music room, I felt like I belonged. This musical helped my find myself, and it helped me become confident. Now, I encourage all of you to do what you love in life, and never let anyone stand in your way. Just like I did, by participating in this wonderful musical, with my wonderful music teacher, Mrs.Talley.
