Orpheus and Eurydice were to be married, but the day of the wedding Eurydice was bit by a snake while she was picking flowers for her wedding and she died.
Orpheus mourned his bride & sang his sorrows, the birds, beasts, and the Earth itself sorrowed as well. He decided to see Hades and ask if he could bring Eurydice back with him.
Orpheus' singing was so beautiful that the guard of the Underworld & even Cerberus allowed him to pass.
Orpheus went to Hades. Hades allowed the spirit of Eurydice follow Orpheus but Hades warned Orpheus to not look back at her, for her spirit would return to him.
Orpheus would stop walking, waiting for some noise of movement. He wondered if Hades had deceived him. Orpheus turned around quickly to see if his bride was there, and he saw a dim shade at his heels. He sprung towards her to hug her, But all he got was a farewell and she faded away like mist.
In the end, Orpheus was killed by women of Thrace. When he went to the underworld, he was met by the shade of Eurydice in the daffodil meadows, and there they walk together.
