- The newly birthed virus started to spread quickly, already starting it's attack on the human race.
- The world is told about the virus.
- Soldiers were sent out to take down the infected but the outbreak was too large for the government too handle and ended up with the outbreak taking over.
- The protagonist is being told about the virus and since the government no longer exists that he needs to leave prison and fend for himself.
- The protagonist is left outside to survive on his own.
