  • The 5 Pillars of Islam by Willem Jones
  •     The first pillar of Islam is Shahada, which is a testament of faith. This pillar states that all Muslims must testify to the statement that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet.
  •    The second pillar of Islam is Salat, a daily prayer. This pillar states that Muslims must pray 5 times a day.
  •      The third pillar of Islam is Zakat, a charitable contribution. This pillar states that Muslims must donate a portion of their wealth to those in need.
  •      The fourth pillar of Islam is Sawm, fasting. This pillar states that Muslims must not eat from dawn until dusk during Ramadan.

  • The fifth pillar of Islam is Hajj, a pilgrimage.
  • This pillar states that Muslims, if they can, should make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life.
