Storyboard Text

  • I wonder what was the cause of the French and Indian War?
  • I can tell you all about that!!
  • First of all when did the war take place and what were the causes?
  • The war took place between 1754-1763. It began with arguments between England and France over land and who controlled the Ohio River.  Unfortunately both of the nations wanted the land so that's when the war began!
  • Oh , that's interesting. I have another question . Who were historical figures in the war?
  • Historical figures in the French and Indian war were James Wolfe , George Washington and William Pitt!
  • What were some specific events of the war?
  • In 1755 the French & Native American warriors defeated Edward Braddock . In 1757 - 1761 William Pitt was guiding British war efforts. The battle of Quebec took place in 1759. Then the Treaty of Paris ended it all . They signed the treaty of Paris in 1763!
  • What were effects of the war?
  • Well British won the war ! Since the British won there was a lot of expansion of British territory. The cost of the war put Britain in debt also. Later arguments about the war and how much land was taken led to the American Revolution.
  • Oh my goodness wow. I want to thank you for telling me all this information I didn't know about this important war! One more question was the American Revolution a war or no?
  • You are so welcome and it was specifically a colonial revolt from what occurred in the French and Indian War.
