  • Andrew Jackson was known as the "Peoples President" because he was the average man, he wasn't rich and highly educated, he had to work for what he wanted.
  • The Nullification Crisis of 1828-1833

  • The Spoils Systems occurred when Jackson believed the government needed to be more responsive to the public. In result, Jackson formed all of the existing employees and hired all of his friends and family.

  • When the Federal government imposed a new tax, but South Carolina threatened to succede if they didn't nullify it. Jackson then passed a force bill, that let Federal Troops enforce the law.
  • When congress passed the "Removal A and forced all Indians out of their homes into Oklahoma, the had to walk a long harsh path to Oklahoma, and many Indians died on the way.
  • When Jackon believed the 2nd National Bank was unconstitutional and removed all money from it. Some people liked that he did this, but some people thought it was an abuse of power.
