  • Protagonist - Daniel Pratzer
  • Grandmaster tends to open one's mind and imagination with its romance, outsmarting, and chess strategies. This book will make you reach a different mind set and have a new understanding and respect for the game we call chess.
  • Antagonist - Grandmaster Lizst
  • Grandmaster is set in New York City, at Palace Royale Hotel. Here, the characters of the story participate in a chess tournament. The time period of this novel is in the 21st century.
  • Conflict - Character vs. Self
  • Daniel is an ordinary student, in an ordinary school, in an ordinary town. Nothing about him or his family is interesting. This soon changes when he discovers the truth about his father's past.
  • Theme
  • Mr. Lizst, chess prodigy, was one of Grandmaster Pratzer's friends. Mr. Lizst is a tall fellow, who at first seems to be nice, but watch out! He often bites. He is a money hungry man and would go to hell and back to get what he wants.
  • I am Grandmaster Lizst!
  • Mr. Pratzer faces his inner demons. In the past, he had anger issues and always pushed himself to learn more about chess. He tried killing himself a few times for losing a chess game. Mr. Pratzer left his past behind, but now, he has to face them again.
  • The only way to overcome your fears is by facing them.
