Go get two oranges before I take you to school, sweetie!
I predict “Oranges” will be about how oranges remind the author of their past.
When the speaker was twelve, he walked to a girl’s house in December when it was really cold. He had two oranges weighing his pockets down. The girl came out with gloves and fresh blush/makeup. The two walked to the store together. He let her pick out the candy/chocolate. Her eyes lit up. The chocolate cost .10 cents but he only had a nickel. He paid for the chocolate with a nickel and an orange. They walked across the street holding hands for two blocks. She unwrapped her chocolate and ate his orange.
