  • Peleus and Thetis are getting married! Everyone was invited, including the three goddesses Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite.
  •   I DO
  • They should have invited me!
  • Everyone was invited except for Eris, the goddess of discord. Angry that she hadn't recieved an invitation, she threw a golden apple down to the wedding. The writing on the apple said to the fairest of them all.

  • The goddesses fought over who the apple was for, and asked the wedding guests to decide. The guests didn't want to take sides, so goddesses kept arguing.
  • Priam and Hecuba also wed and had a child. His name was Paris and he was destined to cause the fall of Troy.
  • Paris will cause the fall of Troy!
  • Paris's bad prophecy caused his parents to leave him out in the woods to die. Fortunately, a herdsmen found and took care of him.
  • When Paris was grown, the goddesses, still fighting over the apple, told Paris he had to choose who deserved the apple. Each goddess promised him somethiing if he choose her, and Paris choose Aphrodite because she promised a beautiful wife. The wife turned out to be Helen of Troy.
