Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • The Watson's are introduced through Kenny's eyes. The Watson's live in Flint Michigan and it is the dead of winter. This shows the exposition because it introduces the characters and the setting.
  • Falling Action
  • Daddy comes home with the Ultra Glide. He has it in the car and plays it for the family. This shows the rising action because this event leads up to the family going to Birmingham.
  • Resolution
  • All the Watson's go to Birmingham. They are bringing Byron so he can stay there with Grandma Sands. This shows the Climax because the whole story is based on the Watson's going to Birmingham.
  • Theme
  • The church in Birmingham was bombed. Kenny thinks that he is seeing Joetta's ghost, but she is actually alive. This shows the falling action because this event happened because the family went to Birmingham.
  • The Watson's return home and Byron helps Kenny cope with the tragedy they all witnessed in Alabama. This show the resolution because Byron is helping Kenny cope with the tragedy, and so the problem is being resolved.
  • Nothing is more important than family. This is the theme because without Byron's help to Kenny, Kenny could have still been sad.
