  • Hoot is a story about a boy named Roy who moves to Florida. And while there encounters a boy running down the street when he was on the bus. Curiosity in sues and soon enough Roy ends up helping the boy named Mullet Fingers. Who has a quest to save protected owls from a company called Mother Paulas who is building a pancake house at the owls homes. And by the end they are able to stop the pancakes house's construction.
  • Climax
  • Officer Delinko reports to the site of vandalism where he meets Curly. Sees the upturned survey stakes and finds the Alligators in the Traveling Johnny. This causes Officer Delinko to make a report and get other officers interested.
  • Falling Action
  • Mullet Fingers is brought to a hospital after a semi failed break in to the construction site when he is bite by a dog. Where Roy gives his name for Mullet Fingers since no one is suppose to know his real name. This proves to be a bad choice though because soon after Roy's parents enter the hospital to look for him and he has to tell the truth. Meanwhile Mullet Fingers escapes the hospital
  • Resolution
  • Roy's father tells Roy that there is no way to stop the building of the pancake house. And that Roy instead should try to legally  take down the company.  And taking his fathers advice Roy finds himself at city hall asking for the pancake houses permits. Suspiciously the permits are not there and Roy ends up going home empty handed.
  • Mullet Fingers won't let Roy join him any longer but Roy still gives him a camera to try to snap a picture of the owls. Roy then convinced his entire history class to help him protest the groundbreaking ceremony at the pancake house.
  • Mullet Fingers helps stop the ground breaking ceremony by placing his body in one of the owl burrows. This prompts an owl to land on his head where the entire town can see that the owls do exist and that the pancake place does not have a right to be there. This helps Roy and Mullet Fingers finally save the Owls.
