After days of getting no where, they are surrounding by nothing but water and her dying of dehydration. Then out of no where they see a ship, which is surprising to them because they are moving and the mariner and his crew is not. The lady is playing a game and suddenly yells "I've won!" Come to find out, they were betting if the crew should live or die. Death wins!
The mariner watches the souls of his crew rise up from their bodies and disappear. As they leave, each one of them look at him with a look of anger.
The mariner is on the ship, left with the dead bodies of his crew mates staring at him. As time went on, he would not die of thirst
While out to sea, the mariner noticed sea snakes glistening by his boat. He admired their beauty and saw how pretty they were. When he did that, the albatross sank into sea and disappeared.
After the albatross fell off his neck, he fell asleep and when he slept he dreamed of dew filling the buckets. When he awoke, the rain fell and the wind blew. The clouds opened and angels filled the crews body and directed them home.
Once the ship got to he the harbor, the mariner's crew remained dead and the angels went back to heaven. After the whole ordeal, the mariner was left with the curse of never dying. This means he will stay growing old and would have to tell his story over and over. The moral of this is to respect nature.
