My Of Mice and Men storyboard project for 8th grade Language Arts.
George (right) and Lennie (Left) are two traveling ranchers that constantly get in trouble because of Lennie. George takes care of Lennie because Lennie has a mental disability, most likely autism, because he likes to pet things and has trouble with speech.
When Lennie and George arrive at a ranch to work at, a conflict begins between the boss of the ranch's son, Curley (middle) and Lennie. "George said, "S'pose he (Lennie) don't want to talk." Curley lashed his body around. "By Christ, he's gotta talk when he's spoke to. What the hell are you gettin' into it for?" Chapter 2 Page 25
Curley gets in a fight with Lennie after he thinks Lennie is laughing at him when he is only having memories of the ranch. Lennie ends up crushing Curley's hand. "Curley stepped over to Lennie like a terrier. "What the hell you laughin' at?" Lennie looked blankly at him. "Huh?" Then Curley's rage exploded. "Come on you big bastard. Get up on your feet." GET 'IM LENNIE!
After Lennie accidentally kills a puppy, Curley's wife arrives and starts talking to Lennie about how she wanted to be an actress and how she met Curley. She then lets Lennie pet her hair. This gets out of hand though, because Lennie won't let go, and he ends up breaking her neck. After this, Lennie runs away to a spot George said to go if he got in trouble
While Lennie is hiding, waiting for George, he hallucinates his Aunt Clara and a giant rabbit, both with Lennie's voice. They both scold him, the Aunt Clara saying how Lennie is so much trouble for George, and the rabbit says that Lennie's crazy for wanting to tend rabbits.
George arrives at the brush where Lennie is at and they talk about a place they would have with farm animals and rabbits for Lennie to tend to. George then tells Lennie to "Look down there acrost the river, like you can almost see the place." While Lennie is looking across the river, George takes out a luger pistol and shoots Lennie in the back of the head.
