The representatives from all of the states who agreed with forming a new government needed different reasons to ratify the new government , such as the fact the old government, The Articles of Confederation could not impose taxes and the previous government not able to hold enough power to create national unity.
The delegates from the all agreeing states needed to be ready for compromise but they still had good reasons to ratify there new government such as, not being able to solve quarrels between states such as borders and taxed goods crossing state borders.
There were many compromises the delegates must make but the three main compromises were, the 3/5 compromise meaning 3/5's of all the slave population in a single state would be counted as people, another compromise was the great compromise which meant that there would be a two house congress, One house which the number of representatives was based of population and the other with just two senators from each state. The last compromise, the slave trade stated that all slaves found in free states must be returned to there owner.
