After speaking in Thomas's head that she is going to trigger "The Ending" and that she won't remember much when she wakes up and generally confusing Thomas, she wakes up. She doesn't remember what she meant about "The Ending", but she remembered Thomas and knows more than other Gladers did when they first arrived. Right after that, the skies turn grey and Thomas notes that it looks artificial. To further the confusion, the Maze walls no longer close at night, meaning the Grievers can come into the Glade at night.
The Skies Turn Grey and the Girl Wakes Up
During all this chaos, someone went burned the Maze Room and all of the Maps of the Maze and badly injured Alby. Thomas thinks that it doesn't matter, but suddenly has an idea of how to solve the maze using the maps. Freaking out, he tells Newt and Minho of the situation. The exchange a look and tell him that the ones that were burned were fakes and that the real ones are in a safe place. Thomas and others quickly get to work. His idea works!
Someone Burns the Map Room
Now that the Grievers can come in at night, that is exactly what they do. Gally, after his Banishment, shows up out of nowhere and starts proclaiming random junk about Thomas being evil. Suddenly, a Griever busts in through the window and grabs Gally and leaves. Gally said that they will take one person every night until nobody is left. Nobody seems to care that Gally is gone, because he was just a pain anyway.I chose these scenes for this assignment because Thomas is starting to take charge and beginning how to really solve The Maze. This page range is full action and is in my opinion, the best of the book so far.
