  • Universal Conflict
  • The TAG is about perseverance and the overcoming of obsticales.
  • Mood
  • My text to self connection with the Historical Fiction novel is that my family has a lot of history with Wars. Some of my relatives are from veitnonm war and others from WW II.  My great Grandfather had a plane crash in war and was the only man to survive.
  • The prevalent conflict in the historical fiction novel is mostly Man vs. self. Ken deals with his emotions of his home life when in the journey. Throughout his journey he deals with facts that he lost all his friends and may even die.
  • The mood that was set for me in the novel was  melancholy and persuasive. I felt motivated by his powerful determination it persuaded me to be a better person, and appreciate for every moment and thing I have a hold of. This book made me realize how real some others people life is, and how much I appreciate having the freedom of the USA.
