Eli Whitney was an American inventor who invented the cotton gin and made an impact on his invention in the United States.Eli went to three colleges, Yale college, Leicester Academy, and Becker college to study the laws of mechanics and machines.
Eli had invented the Cotton Gin around the 1800s, it was a machine used to separate cotton fibers from their seeds.
The advantages of the machine was to increase the population of cotton by speeding up the removal of seeds from cotton fiber, to improve the economy/ agriculture, and to prevent slavery.
The United States, farmers, and slaves would benefit from this invention because slaves would have clothing to wear, farmers can make money, and once people start using the machines, the more it benefits Eli’s invention.
Eli Whitney died on January 8, 1825, because of prostate cancer. During the course of his illness, he invented and constructed several devices to mechanically ease his pain.
