Storyboard Text

  • This is my school, It's located in Front Royal, VA.
  • Warren County High School
  • Thanks to Brown V. Board of Education; in September of 1959, myself and 21 other blacks finally got to attend the same school as whites.
  • But after the Southern Manifesto, our school's population of white people decreased a lot.
  • The Southern Manifesto was a document written in February and March  of 1956 opposing against school desegregation. They tried to segregate black schools once and for all.
  • But since it didn't change anything, wealthy white parents took their kids out of school and put them into an all white private school.
  • Which left the poverty white students and black students at desegreagated schools.
