On a quiet afternoon in San Francisco, Bobby Fernandez was fatally shot by Trevor White.
YOU WILL SERVE A LIFE TERM!
Trevor was not told his rights as he was taken in and was interviewed. He confessed to the crime he had committed entirely.
The Magistrate Judge determined Trevor would await his trial while being held in jail. The US Marshal arrested him and had him put in a cell!
I AM FREE!
Being heard for the first time in District Court (Original Jurisdiction), Trevor was sentenced to a life term! His lawyer wanted to appeal the court's decision so he went to the Court of Appeals in the Californian circuit.
With Appellate Jurisdiction, the Court of Appeals revised the case and a Judge wrote the official Opinion. Trevor's case will be remanded and sent back to District Court.
This time around, a US Attorney represented the Californian government against Trevor, they eventually lost the case. These infamous trials set a precedent that law enforcement must state a citizen's rights upon detainment.
