I wonder what is keeping the moon traveling in an orbit around Earth.
If the apple fell because of the same force tugging on the moon. Maybe cause the moon is far away, it is weaker, but is strong enough to bend the direction of it.
So the law of gravity is that all physical objects have a force of attractions between them and strength of force depends on mass and distance between each other.
So, the moon tugged on each other and at a certain point in space, the "tugs" canceled each other out. The result was the moon being trapped in its orbit around Earth. Cause the apple had little mass and close to Earth, so gravity pulled it down.
I have published a book called Principia to present the law of gravity and the three laws of motion to explaine why the moon travels around the Earth and how it kept planets around the sun.
I'm so happy my laws have dramatically change people's picture of the universe
