  • She's really good!
  • A/N: [Let's just pretend she has weaving tools here.]
  • You are a talented weaver, but you shouldn't disrespect Athena with such comments.
  • Challenge accepted!
  • Arachne was a famous Greek weaver and the daughter of a dyer of wool who had a problem with people giving credit for her skills to Athena.
  • While boasting about her weaving skills, she also made harsh comments towards Athena that she was nothing compared to her own which angered Athena. Athena then scolds Arachne in the form of an old woman
  • I will make sure that you will suffer and so do your bloodline!
  • When Arachne retorted back at her, Athena revealed herself in a fit of rage then challenged Arachne into a competition.
  • Athena weaved images of the gods and their acts of kindness and justice whereas Arachne's was the opposite. The images of her work offended Athena for it shows the dark side of the gods.
  • Athena tore up Arachne's weaving and bludgeoned her with a stick, causing her to run away.
  • Athena caught her and transformed Arachne into a spider as a warning to others.
