First reading then second reading occurs bill is elaborated during the second reading
Committee StageDebated in detail and amendments are made if necessary
During the third reading a vote is taken on whether or not the bill should be approved
After it has passes through the lower house it then reaches the upper house and goes through the same things again
The final stage after this is to receive Royal Assent from the Governor-General or Governor.
