- Martha, This year there has been a change in the policy regarding the scholarship jacket so according to the dissension of the board, You need to pay $15 dollars in order to get the jacket or else the jacket will given to the runner-up.
- You never shouldn't pay for an award , that you worked really hard for it and really earns and deserves it.
- The main characters in the story are Martha, Martha's Grandpa, her two teachers- Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Boone and Her Principal.

- Martha is a dynamic character in the story because at the beginning of The story, Martha was happy that she will get the scholarship jacket this Year but at the middle of the story, Martha knows that she will not Going to get the jacket which made Martha really sad and unhappy but Finally at the end of the story, Martha got the Scholarship jacket which Made her happy again.

- This is External conflict ( Man vs Man) because the principal is asking Martha to pay $15 in order to get the Scholarship jacket this year but The jacket always was free before this year which made Martha really shocked and surprised.
- The theme of the story is that You never shouldn't pay for An award , that you worked really hard for it and really earns And deserves it.
- This is first person point of view because the story is told by Martha Who is the narrator and In the story there used pronouns such as "I" Which only used when an narrator tells the story.
