Algernon died. Charlie is worried that that might happen to him. He does not want it to, he wants to hold on to the things he's learned.
Charlie has started to notice his mental capacity srinking,
Charlie's mental capacity had struck, much like Algernon, he has decided to leave all this behind and go somewhere where no one will know about the operation. He has also left behind all his research.
