  • The French Revolution was from July 14, 1789 to November 9, 1799.
  • The Tennis court Oath
  • One big factor is peasants had to pay very high taxes even when they were in poverty.  Taxes took there food money away and that angered all peasants. The nobles and clergy didn't have to pay a dime which really pissed people off.
  • The storming of the Basrille
  • The Estates General was setup to discuss the problems of the Estates. This is because of the French revolution and any decisions made for the estates would affect the revolution.
  • The great fear
  • After the Third Estate made themselves the National Assembly they went to a tennis court because they feared the king would remove them from their meeting place. They took the Tennis Court Oath Where they swore to never separate.
  • The storming of the Bastille was a symbol for representing abuse of monarchy. When this happened the Parisians killed the commander and didn't find any weapons. This riot was a challenge to the regime.
  • The Great fear was a bad time because most peasants would end up rioting over the privileges of the king to over throw the Third Estate.
