Treaty of Tordesillas Events
The events that led to the treaty of tordesillas being signed.
Europeans were searching for new sources of wealth. They could have been able to find new things, maybe even a new trade route.
There are many others who are in search of the same thing as the Europeans, but some people want to own land as well.
People during this time had argued over the treasures and things that were found during the voyages.
Christopher Columbus had been one of these explorers. He had been trying to get to Asia when he actually landed in the caribbean.
This is what forced Portugal and Spain to argue about who had got to the island first and who will get to own it.
Then they had decided to sign the Treaty of Tordesillas which allowed Portugal to own the eastern parts and Spain the western parts.
