Storyboard Text

  • Engel (student) Vitale (state)
  • Engel v. Vitale
  • moment of silence or prayer time.
  • is voluntary prayer in public schools violating my First Amendment  in prohibiting state establishment of religion.
  • The Amendment was supposed to keep the government out of religion. Children are impressonable and such religions can allow them to embrace a religion their parents do not want.
  • The prayers given in class are short and not discussed. The children are just learning about how we as a country were founded upon God.
  • Requiring public schools to participate in prayer is unconstitutional.
  • Establishment clause was only meant to prohibit the establishment of a state-sponsored church
