  • At first the British wanted the land and had already started to settle their, but the French started to settle their to on their land. So Britain got George Washington sent to Ohio to get the French to leave. And when they refused to leave, well war started.
  • Lets have no more fighting. Deal?
  • Deal.
  •  They soon fought for there independence to be free and no longer part of Britain. And along the way the French also joined in on this war and helped the colonists
  • In May 28, 1754, Lt Colonel G. Washington defeats French near Great Meadows.
  • But the war wasn't over. There were years and years of war still left. Lets skip a couple of years and look at when the Governor- General Vaundriel of New France surrenders Montreal in September 8, 1760. No shots were fired though that day. It was all peaceful.
  • In February 10th, 1763 the Treaty of Paris is ratified, ending the war.
  • However, after the war ended means that someone has to pay for it. Unfortunately, that someone was the English colonists. They were forced to pay taxes on everything, paper, sugar, tea, stamps, and more. The colonists grew angry about this and decided to throw protests. However these protests ended up in war against the Patriots/Americans  and the British.
  • After the war the colonists won their independence and also wrote up the Deceleration of Independence. It states that all men are equal of their rights. Little did they know this was only part of what formed the United states. -End
