Professor! Can you teach me about the men whos discoveries help shape our understanding of Electricity today?
Oho! Certainly my boy! Do you know who James Clark Maxwell is?
James Clark Maxwell? Wasn't he the Scotsman that formulated the theory of electromagnetic radiation?
Aha! well done my boy! Because of him we now know that a changing magnetic field will induce a changing electrical field
What of Heinrich Hertz and Michael Faraday?
Faraday was the Englishman that discovered Electromagnetic Induction! Heinrich Hertz on the other hand he proved the existence of Radio Waves that Maxwell previously described, they even named the unit of frequency "Hertz" in his honor!
And what of the man named Hans Christian Ørsted?
Ah! He was a Danish physicist and chemist, he discovered that electric currents create magnetic fields, which was the first connection found between electricity and magnetism
Oh I have one last question. André-Marie Ampère, what did he contribute?
Ah! he was a Frenchman was one of the founders of the science of classical electromagnetism, which he referred to as "electrodynamics" and made Ampere's Law of Electromagnetism!
Thank you so much Professor! You've taught me so much!
