- The War of 1812 was caused by many reasons, one of them which was impressement, or kidnapping, of American sailors to serve in the British navy by claiming they were British deserters.
- What?! No, I'm an American sailor, you can't make me serve in your military!
- Ah, I see that you're a British deserter. For escaping, you will be forced to join Military Service.
- Another reason for the war was that the British started arming the Native Americans with their weaponry to make it harder for the American settlers to push the Natives out and gain their land.
- Thank you. We will be sure to make them suffer
- The British army will start supplying you with our weapons so you can fight against the Americans for your land.
- The final straw was when the British started interfering with America's shipping and trading with other countries. The British built up a blockade to stop the ships from leaving the harbor.
- Why are we stopping the ship. We need to get started on our trading.
- The British aren't allowing us to get through and built up a blockade!
- In April 1814, the British attacked Washinton D.C., breaking through U.S. defenses, and set fire to the White House, the Capitol, and other government buildings.

- Oh no Mr President! What are we going to do? The White House has burned down!!
- After Washington D.C., the British went to Baltimore, Maryland and bombed Fort McHenry for 25 hours. The Americans refused to surrender, so the British retreated.

- After 2 years of fighting, the War of 1812 officially ended when both sides signed the Treaty of Ghent on December 24, 1814.
