It was the first day at UNI and Mark was running late as usual. He was hustling to get to class as his long-time friend, Freddie, pulled into the student lot in his new Porsche 911
Hey Mark! Wait Up!
No Freddie, I did not see that stupid show. I've got so much going on I can't even focus on my schoolwork let alone TV.
Mark stormed off to class w/o Freddie, who stayed at the vending machines a bit confused, you see, Freddie's father made large donations to the university they were attending, summing up their families' financial problems from little to none. Mark, on the other hand, was attending solely due to an awarded scholarship financing the majority of his tuition. Regardless, his financial burdens and obligations remained just the same.
Yo did you see that latest episode for Euphoria? That shit was nuts!
Mark then stormed out of the classroom, leaving Freddie speechless. "As a result of his life experiences, Freddie had learned that human life doesn't count for too much and that it's okay to take what he wants. That's why he was so surprised that his friendship with Mark was in so much trouble now."
Class, please take out your books and skip to the beginning of Chapter 3!
OH MY GOD FREDDIE ENOUGH! I don't have my books because I can't afford them okay?! The tuition rates here are skyrocketing, the financial aid sucks, and jus living on campus is so damn expensive! We don't all have it as easy as you Freddie and you can;'t expecr everyone to be as easygoing as you.
Yo what's going on bro? You on your period or something? Anyways did you see that girl on my story last night. She looked so good in my new whip! Yo where's your textbook at?
Freddie burst into the hall, worried for his best friend. Realizing he was too late as Mark was nowhere close by, Freddie stood in the hall and contemplated on what Mark told him in their lab. He realized that most students did not have the money to purchase ridiculously priced textbooks, although it always just seemed like a choice to him given his comfortable financial status. All of the issues Mark mentioned were social issues plaguing the rest of the students in relation to deciding whether to purchase their textbooks or not. It wasn't right and Freddie knew it. He had to find Mark!
MARK! Mark where are you!
Mark caught the first shuttle bus back to his campus dormitories, with Freddie on foot pursuit. He understood why Mark was upset and just wanted to make amends, he realizes that his entitled behavior and uppity nature were qualities he always exhibited that now needed to cease. He was willing to be better for his best friend Mark, who was clearly fed up after all of these years.
MARK, WAIT! Godammit!
Mark and Freddie then went on like business usual, BFFS once more. And although Mark told Freddie he never wants him to change, Freddie then went on to purchase textbooks for every student in his class for all of their courses required. This was only a first step in Freddie's new goal to give back, which was a great step forward for him.
Wow, well that's like the first time you've really apologized to me so I really do appreciate it Fred. And stop with that be better nonsense! Yeah your an entitled asshole but your my boy and I love you.
Hey man, listen I just ran all the way here because I wanted to apologize for being a dick. I haven't been sensitive or receptive to anything you've got going on and it's not fair to you as my homeboy. I'm sorry for being such an "egocentric" entitled piece of crap all the time, I really am bro, I'm gonna be better..
