Storyboard Text

  • Gabbie Thompson
  • This book is all about Jane Goodall´s life story.
  • Text Structure - Cause/Effect
  • ¨Because Jane Goodall risked her life again and again in the wild to study chimpanzees¨(66).
  • ¨50 years later the field of chimpanzee research looks completely different¨(66).
  • Sign Post - Word Gaps
  • ¨With geographic information systems software scientists can map chimp activities and the natural resources in the area¨(71).
  • My group members are Callaway, Anna, and Ella.
  • Mindset - Takes On Challenges
  • Since using humans to research chimpanzees was not working because, the humans were accidentally scaring the chimpanzees. The scientists came up with cameras called camera traps to film what the chimpanzees were doing.
  • To save a lot of chimpanzees, Jane Goodall had to risk her life again and again in the wild.
  • Summary - Aha! Huh? & If/Then
  • Aha! -The camera traps were motion activated. -Camera traps don´t interfere with the wildlife. Huh? -It was hard to believe that they found out that the chimps in one area of Gombe would groom their selves one way and they other chimps would groom the the other way.
  • This is technical talk for the computer systems that they would use to show single trees and buildings, alert researchers about human threats to the habitat, and high-resoluton satellite images of the habitat.
  • Question
  • What do you think about Jane devoting her life to saving chimpanzees?
  • Researching new ways to research chimpanzees, the scientists came up with camera traps.
  • - Camera traps- Determination- Try try again- Failure - Sucess
  • If they had never found out how to make the camera traps, then Jane would of had to go out by herself and do her research.
  • This was my finale storyboard.
